Forts of Faith

Forts of Faith

Event Discription: What is the purpose of home? Place to sleep? Place to eat? Place for your stuff? We’d probably say yes to all those. In 2020 the purpose of home has been redefined and expanded a bit. A home is a restaurant, office, gym, child care center, and more. Home has been redefined for many families.

One of the purposes of home is a purpose that we can’t let slip through the cracks, it’s the purpose of being ground zero for making disciples. Even before 2020, Scripture has been clear that home is ground zero for making disciples (Deuteronomy 6:7).

Now it’s one thing to know we are supposed to do that, it’s another thing to know how to do that. Well that’s what the church is for, to lead, educate, come along beside parents and guardians and how we turn our homes into forts of faith where disciples of all ages are made.

Join Pastor Luke on Sunday Evenings at 6pm (location TBD) for a Bible Study, Forts of Faith: Reclaiming Home as Ground Zero for Making Disciples. This will be a biblical and practical Bible Study on what it means to make disciples right in your home.

When: Sundays September 13 - November 8 @ 6pm

Where: Church Sanctuary

Weekday School

Sunday Night Live

Event Discription: Our middle and high school youth are meeting again on Sunday nights. We provide the youth a comfortable space to fellowship and worship together. Appropriate safety measures will take place to ensure the health and well-being of all students and leaders involved. Join us on Sundays from 6:00-7:30pm for games, worship, and Bible study.

Our fall series is entitled Defined: Living in Light of our Gospel Identity. How would you define yourself? We live in a world that is constantly trying to define us based on achievement, appearance, or popularity. Many of us struggle under the force of these lies, and we end up believing false perceptions of ourselves. And now, more than ever, many of our social labels have been stripped away so we’re left feeling confused and empty. But thankfully, Scripture reminds us we are more than any definition society may give us. The good news is that Christ alone defines our identity! In this series, the youth will be challenged to reconsider who they really are in light of who God really is.

When: Sunday Nights from 6-7:30pm

Where: Cockrell Hall & The Basement

Registration: Youth PAC | Pathfinders

Youth Study Hall

Event Discription: One of the goals of our youth ministry is for the students to live in community with one another. In light of many local schools engaging in remote learning, we plan to open a Study Hall for both Youth Pac and Pathfinders. The church will be open to our youth from 8am-3pm every Tuesday and Thursday as a place to complete various schoolwork and fellowship with other students. Youth Pac gather in Cockrell Hall and Pathfinders will gather in the basement. If, for a select period of time, students are in need of a quiet place with no distractions, we will have “study rooms” available in the church upon request.

We hope the youth will join us weekly for study, games, and sweet fellowship. Light snacks will be provided but we ask for the youth to bring their own packed lunch. Feel free to stay all day or come and go as you wish - we are here to work with your schedule! We are continuing to be flexible and will tend to varying needs as they arise.

We are looking for loving and responsible adults to be with our youth during these times. If you are interested and available to volunteer with this ministry, or if you want more information, please contact Kaitlyn.

When: Tuesdays & Thursdays from 8am-3pm (beginning Sept. 15)

Where: Cockrell Hall & The Basement
